A Season of Change: Summer Reflections and Looking Ahead

This summer has brought significant changes to CROC and Mia’s Menagerie. As many of our supporters know, our mission has always been to inspire curiosity, promote responsible animal care, and share the wonders of the animal kingdom with our community through live outreach programs.

However, due to shifting priorities and the realities of balancing family, work, and animal care, we’ve had to make some difficult decisions. Over the past few months, we have reduced the size of our animal collection and the number of exhibits we’re able to offer. This was not an easy choice, but it was necessary to ensure that every animal in our care continues to receive the highest standards of welfare and attention.

While our collection is smaller, we’re happy to share that many of our fan-favorite animals remain part of the CROC family. These beloved ambassadors will continue to be available

for future outreach programs, and we’re excited to keep sharing their stories and unique personalities with you. Mia’s enthusiasm for wildlife and her passion for educating others remain at the heart of everything we do, and we look forward to bringing these experiences to more audiences in the future.

We also want to take a moment to honor the memory of Pineapple the hedgehog, who sadly passed away this year. Pineapple was a cherished member of our menagerie and brought joy to countless children and adults alike, he made his final appearance in front of audiences at this summer’s Haverhill Fair. He will be dearly missed by all who had the pleasure of meeting him.

As we look ahead, we want to let everyone know that CROC and Mia’s Menagerie will not be available for outreach programs until the beginning of 2026. This pause will allow us to focus on our animals, family, and the continued development of our educational resources. We appreciate your understanding and ongoing support during this time.

From all of us at CROC and Mia’s Menagerie, we wish you a wonderful holiday season and a happy, healthy New Year. We can’t wait to reconnect with you in 2026 and continue our shared journey of discovery and respect for all creatures great and small.
