Why You See Different Names on Our Posts (And What They All Mean!)

If you’ve followed us for a while, you’ve probably noticed that our social media posts sometimes feature different names - CROC, Mia’s Menagerie, Flustered Clucks… and maybe even a critter or two who thinks they run the place. We promise we’re not trying to confuse anyone. These names each have a purpose, and together they help us keep our animal world organized, compliant, and fun!
Today we wanted to take a moment to explain what each name means, why we use it, and how it all fits together behind the scenes.
CROC: The Heart of Everything We Do
Christina’s Reptiles & Other Critters (CROC) is our official business name and the foundation of all our animal outreach work. Every program we offer - from classroom visits to community events to hands‑on educational exhibits - is advertised, booked, and billed under CROC.

If you’ve ever:
scheduled a program
received an invoice
signed a contract
or made a payment
…it was handled through CROC. Think of CROC as the “mothership” that keeps all our critters, projects, and adventures connected.
Mia’s Menagerie: A Creative Corner of Our World

“Mia’s Menagerie” isn’t a business - it’s a personality.
This is the name Mia uses when she shares:
behind‑the‑scenes moments
fun videos
personal animal stories
her own style of educational content
It’s simply a creative nickname that lets Mia express herself and connect with our audience in her own voice. No bookings, no billing, no business - just passion and personality.
Flustered Clucks: Our Feathered Family’s Farm Name
Our poultry flock lives under the name Flustered Clucks, and there’s a good reason for that.

Chickens, ducks, and other farm birds are regulated differently than our exotic animals. Even though they aren't the primary function of our operations, using a dedicated farm name for our poultry helps us stay organized for:
NPIP certification & flock inspections
avian health tracking
egg sales
Flustered Clucks is a registered DBA and our official NPIP farm name, but it’s not a separate business. All financial reporting still goes through CROC - we simply use the farm name to meet poultry‑specific requirements and keep everything neat and compliant.
What About Venmo, PayPal, or Facebook Payments?
Great question - and one we get often.
Mobile payment apps each handle names a little differently. Depending on the platform, payments may show either:
the personal account holder's user name, or
our registered business name (CROC)
It all depends on how that particular app formats business profiles. Either way, all payments go to the same place and support the same animals - whether they have scales, feathers, or a questionable sense of personal space.
The Quick Summary
If you skimmed everything above, here’s the simple version:
CROC is our official business name. All programs and exhibits are booked and advertised under CROC.
Mia’s Menagerie is just a fun nickname for Mia’s content - not a business.
Flustered Clucks is our poultry farm name used for regulatory purposes.
Payment apps may show different names depending on the platform, but they all route to the same place and support our animal care and operating expenses.
Different names, same team, same mission: Sharing our love of animals with our community - one critter at a time.
